Story about a Finnish war hero, who fought communism under three flags.

This time you will hear story about a Finnish war hero, who fought communism under three flags: Lauri Allan Törni aka Larry Thorne. I would like to apologize my inactive blogging rencently due to broken GPU. I have my new one up and running so everything is fine now.

Lauri Törni, later Larry Thorne when he was serving in USA Special Ops, was a Finnish man, who fought communism under three flags: Finland 1939-1944 (FDF), German 1941-1945 (Waffen SS) and USA (Green Berets) 1953-1965. During 1945 - 1955  he managed to escape POW camp once and prison twice.

Story about the one of the greatest war heroes of Finland.

Its time for a story about one of the greatest war heroes that Finland has to offer: Simo Häyhä. This post was inspirated by iAdrenalines badass of the week -theme.

When you think of Finland, the first thing that comes in to your mind, isn't the word military powerhouse. Likewise if you look at Simo Häyhä, skinny Finnish farmer who was under five feet tall, you wouldn't think, that he would become an unstoppable killing machine.  Oh well, what do you know.

Simo Häyhä doing what he does best. Fucking up russians.

Fail of the Week price goes to Australian submarine fleet.

I found these videos from Hungry Beast, which is an Australian show, that airs on the local ABC network.

Fail of the Week price goes to Australian submarine fleet.

Behold the twelve most expensive mistakes ever made. Problems, that the submarines has,  is beoynd me. Torpedos that can't fit in the firing tubes, periscopes that can't be raised without making loud noises and  combat systems, that doesn't work. The HMNS COLLINS was missing it's whole combat system and part of it was made of wood painted black, when it was launched back in 1993.

This is how you win wars!

Microfinance

Just stumbled upon this video about Microfinancing and thought, that all of you should check it out. Its about giving small loans to people in the third world for their business.

Its pretty amazing, how Kiva works: You loan, lets say 50 dollars, to one or more third world entrepreneurs, for example, to buy more livestock. The 50 bucks goes straight to the person you loaned it without any middlehands. After the loan, Kiva allows you to monitor the paying back progress and when the money has been paid back full, you can withdraw the money or pass it to other entrepreneurs. You can actually end up passing that same 50 bucks on and on, helping alot of people in need.

Theres 695.380 users in Kiva and they have loaned 129,489,985€ for 330,313 loan recipients. 98.47% of loans are repaid.

Everyday Normal Guy winning. 100 followers.

Wow, I've hit the 100 followers mark. I didn't expect  that my blog would take off like this but it did and thanks goes to all of you followers!

I'm sorry that I haven't been updating my blog recently, it's been a crazy week. I've been busy with work and explaining why I'm such an insensitive dickhead bastard that my girlfriend described me. Thank you Battlefield: Bad Company 2 for keeping me entertained by my bitching girlfriend and without poontang since 2009! Well the road trip didn't help either. Everything's fine now, at least until Battlefield 3 hits the shelves.

Celebration cake, for hitting 100 followers mark, was made by my interwebs love, Anette. Check her blog!

You all definitely deserve a high-five!
